I think I’ll be deleting this blog soon. I’ll take all the pictures and upload them to my Facebook, and possibly save my favourite posts as Word documents in PDF form, then upload them somewhere.

Not So Live

Okay, so that last post looks a bit too hopeful in retrospect. I’m not going to piss and moan about the little details, but the chances of a live Echoplex show are now extremely slim. To sum up the whole saga, I’ll just say this – if the members of Echoplex can’t believe in themselves enough to raise money for people in need, then it’s not very likely that we’ll be together for long... at least not in the current formation, anyway.

The possibility of a live Echoplex show popped into my head whilst I was talking with a friend about an upcoming Comic Relief fundraiser. It takes place a month today – and, hopefully, everything will fall into place and we’ll put on a great show. Although, at this stage, the ball isn’t even rolling yet. Of the Echoplex members, only Ellis and I are on board so far; Jakub said he’d agree to take part if both Ellis and Danny agreed.

This is the point at which irony, being a total slut, slapped us in the face. Danny – the only Echoplex member who studies Drama – is adamant that he won’t be in the show. Because he’s too shy. (This is the point at which irony takes its hands off us, leaving huge red marks.) I’m hoping that we’ll be able to talk him into it, because it would be nice to see how well we cope on stage. Even if it’s a complete failure, we’ve still raised money for a charity at the end of the day, so we hopefully won’t feel like we’re going away completely empty-handed and useless.

Another friend of ours reminded me that she has contacts in the NSPCC. She said that if we ever want to raise money for the NSPCC via another stage show, all we have to do is come up with some material for the show and give her a few weeks notice to get the show organised. That means, thankfully, the option of a live show is still there if we don’t take the bait for Comic Relief.

I just found a two-year-or-so-old picture of myself and decided to compare to a picture taken just last weekend. This is an improvement, right? RIGHT?!
